One Year of Self Employment and Counting :)!
It’s been more than a year since I said good bye to my full time job at JW Tumbles and jumped in with all my energy and excitement on this new journey of being self employed and do what I love most, photography! I would lie to say that it was an easy decision and that I didn’t fear being self employed. All those questions of what if kept on worrying me and pulling me back, but somehow I made them disappear and here I am a year later happier that I ever been before.
In this one year of being self employed I accomplished more that I thought I ever could. I knew that I am a hard worker and that I will do my hardest to make it work, but what I lacked was enough courage. Being the worrier type, it was hard for me not to have a thousand scenarios running through my head of how leaving my full time job, a secure paycheck that gets dumped into my account every two weeks, wouldn’t be a bad idea. …and somehow I still did it!
That “somehow” is adds up to be the ongoing love and support that I get from George, my husband. He is the one who had to tell me a million times that I can quit my job and that we will be fine and that he will support and love me no matter what. …and he was right. After a year of going through ups and downs we made it, even better that I ever dreamed.
In this one year I got to do what I love most, capturing memories of in-love couples in the most beautiful stage of their lives. … and if that is not enough I got to do it with the person I love the most. George a.k.a Bubu 🙂 thank you for wanting to spend so much time with me even when we are working and I am so happy to be married to such a generous and smart person and such a talented cinematographer! I love you with all my heart and I know that this journey of working together will bring us even closer, if that is even possible :). Thank you for always being there for me and for encouraging and telling me enough times that I can do it. Without you I would not be here. I love you!
To all of our couples from this last year and our past clients who helped us get where we are, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Without your support and love we would not be here. We feel so lucky to have met so many amazing people like you and every single one of you touched us in a way or the other.
To the, so passionately photographer and cinematographer who is looking into quitting their full time job and spending time doing what they love most, capturing memories, I would like to say go ahead and live your life at the fullest. However, do not expect it to be easy, because it won’t. You will need to work 10 times harder then you work at your current job, but if you truly love this art of capturing memories it will be all worth it and you’ll never look back.
Thank you to everyone who supported Mari Harsan Studios and to our new clients we can not wait to meet and learn more about you and your love story :)!!!
