Stunning Pelican Hill Indian Wedding | Ramya and Neel
It is certainly an honor to be invited back to photograph another family event! I will be honest every time this happens I do a happy dance and every time it doesn’t I can’t help but be a little sad. Thankfully, I was invited to travel to Newport Beach, California for this stunning Pelican Hill Indian wedding of Ramya and Neel and of the dearest families.
Neel and now Ramya are the siblings of Ashima and Aaalok and listen to this, both of these two couple’s wedding dates were on the same date, August 29, one year apart. How cool is that? Also, not to mention that the last sibling remaining in the Talwar family ,Nikhil, is now expected to get married on August 29, as well! If you ask me, it is pretty darn smart and how amazing will it be down the road to have family reunions on their anniversary date?
Besides Ashima and Aalok’s wedding I also got to photograph their cousin’s Rohan and Rachael’s wedding. Now, just for a second, imagine how absolutely delighted I was to see so many familiar faces and get all those warm and welcoming hugs. I truly felt like a member of the family, especially after being asked at least 3 times by Neel’s mom, Lucky, if I ate because at one point she saw me munching on a protein bar. Without hesitation I can say that this family has a special place in my heart and I know I am also special to them.
Ramya and Neel are sweet, in love, beautiful and all, but what struck me most about them was how wise they are. Even though young, these two are so responsible, respectful and understanding. Watching them navigate their day with all the wedding day surprises was almost calming.
Their day started at the iconic Pelican Hill, a stunning location for a wedding ceremony or anything, really. We took advantage of the morning light and did a first look and couple portraits around the property. The ceremony took place in front of the beautiful structure in the garden overlooking the pacific ocean. From there we transitioned to the Fashion Island Hotel for a more cooler indoor reception. But not before a second couple portrait session at a nearby beach. Ramya’s wish was to have a beautiful portrait of her and Neel on the beaches of California. Needless to say that became my command and if you do wish you can read more about it in this post on my instagram.
With all this said I want to once again express how grateful I am to not just capture such important events, but to be asked to capture more than one. A huge thanks to the Talwar family and all my couples. I truly enjoy working with each and everyone of you! Enjoy this stunning Pelican Hill wedding!
